Tariff

The two components of the overall tariff:

 

The monetary compensation tariff, which is partially remitted to municipalities to defray the costs of selective collection, but which is also used to pay the management allowance to be paid to RECYC-QUÉBEC as well as RecycleMed’s operating costs ;

 

Since 2022, following the adoption of the 65 Law, there is only ont Tariff established by ÉEQ and RecycleMédias.

 

The tariff related to municipal compensation for advertising placement.

The following rates have been established to cover the annual compensation due for the years 2010 to 2022 (before industry rectification) :

From 2010 to 2012 inclusive, the contribution payable in cash covers the indemnity to Recyc-Québec and the operating costs. From 2013 to date, the cash prize always includes the Recy-Québec allowance and RecycleMédias operating expenses, to which is added a portion of the municipal compensation payable in cash.

 

Until 2013, the amount of metric tonnes used to calculate the contribution owed by each newspaper owner for each of these three (3) years is that of 2010. Since 2014, the amount of metric tonnes used To calculate the contribution owed by each journal owner is that of the year preceding the year of the tariff.

 

Since the 2022 Tariff, ÉEQ has been calculating the rate per tonne for newspapers.

Date of application of the tariff

Given the agreement to be made with Recyc-Québec, here are the new dealines for bill payments.

Following the publication of the tariff established by RecycleMédias in the Official Gazette and in accordance with the Environnement Quality Act, you must pay within 90 days of invoicing, according to article 6.2.1 of the tariff.
